Glossary(1) Conchiolin
Horn-like substance that holds together the layers of crystalline-like calcium carbonate which are deposited inside the shell.
Baroque Pearls
uneven shaped pearls.
The most important quality of a pearl which can be determined varying from the smoothness of the surface, uniformity of pear layers and the amount of impurities.

Nacre Thickness
This refers to the thickness of pearl layers. This is also an important factor to determine the durability of the pearl's surface.
Pinctada Maxima
A large kind of oyster which produces the South Sea Cultured pearls. One of the rarest kind of pearl.
